October Nature Walk

The boys and girls in Mrs Gavin's Junior Infant Class had their first nature walk this morning. Wrapped up nice and warm, the children started their walk by crossing the path that leads to St Paul's Church. They gathered any leaves they could find in the many shades of Autumn colour, seeds, berries or acorns and not forgetting the must have 'helicopter' seeds from the Sycamore tree! Soon it was time to cross the main road in search of conkers from the Horse Chestnut tree and there were plenty to find. With bags full of autumnal treasure, the children returned to class to fill out a 'Nature Walk' worksheet and create their own 'Nature Table' that I'm sure they will add to over the coming days and weeks.
