Ice Skating Fun

In December, the school held a Christmas raffle, with all money raised going towards the development of our new sports field. As always the children put in a huge effort and the class who collectively sold the most cards won a trip to the new ice skating rink in Mullingar Town Park. The proud winners were the boys and girls in Mr Beehan's Fifth Class. As you can see from the photos below a great time was had by all and what a wonderful way to spend the last day of school before the Christmas holidays!

Irish Dancing School Feis

Six of our young Irish dancers took part in a school feis yesterday afternoon in Clonkill. Seoidín Thornton from Ms Scally's Fifth Class, Jennifer Mc Conville from Ms Nugent's Fourth Class, Holly Colgan, Faye Mc Donald and Kara Mc Keown from Mr Boyle's Second Class and Emily Mc Conville from Ms Mc Laughlin's First Class are all members of the Fiona Gallagher School of Irish Dance. As you can see from the photo below, the girls were all successful and returned home with medals galore and three also receiving trophies. Well done to you all.

The Stage Awaits....

untitled

Keira Nooney from Mrs Walters'/Mrs Slevin's Sixth Class is treading the boards in the sold out pantomime, 'Jack and the Beanstalk', in Mullingar Arts Centre. Keira is playing the part of a slave child. She is taking part in a total of six shows. It's early days but she's loving it so far. Keira loves singing and dancing and playing the piano so this pantomime is right up her street. The first of many performances I'm sure. So as all good thespians say, 'Break a leg Keira'!
