The Food Pyramid


As a healthy eating school, we encourage students at all times to make healthy choices when it comes to breakfast, school lunches, their evening meal and never forgetting snacks. The boys and girls in Mrs Gilligan's Fourth Class have been learning all about healthy eating by using the Food Pyramid. Eating the correct amount of nutrients contained in protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals is so important to maintain good health. To put all their newfound knowledge to the test, the children worked in pairs and groups to design and make a healthy sandwich/wrap/bagel. They had great fun sharing their likes and dislikes and finally creating their healthy treats. I'm sure you'll agree they look delicious!
