Ukulele Lessons Begin...

We're delighted to be offering music lessons to the children again. Today, our third classes began ukulele lessons with Mr Justin Ryan from Music Generation. The children were so excited as they headed to the school hall and were thrilled to discover ukuleles in a wide variety of colours waiting for them. Each child had a ukulele of their own for the duration of the lesson where they learned three new chords which will form the basis for their first song. 

There was a lovely sustainable element to the lesson as Justin explained that the plectrum that each child used was actually created from recycled butter tubs. Justin has a special plectrum-shaped hole punch that allows him to make these sustainable plectrums. He demonstrated how it works to the children. 

It was wonderful to see the boys and girls strumming away together and they are really looking forward to their next lesson!
