Healthy Balanced Lunches

This week in Mrs. Gilligan's 6th class we have been learning about the Food Pyramid in Science. We discussed the importance of each food group and why these nutrients are important for our growing bodies.
The children had to plan and prepare a healthy balanced meal in their groups. Their meal had to contain carbohydrates, protein, calcium and vitamins and minerals. The children came up with some delicious meals, full of nutrients. We had everything from chicken salad wraps with smoothies to a roast dinner!
