We made our own healthy lunches
In recent weeks in 6th class we have been learning all about the importance of having a healthy, balanced diet.
We have been exploring the different food groups such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, fruits and vegetables and the role they play in helping to protect, repair, grow and energise our bodies.
Last Friday our 6th class were given the task of preparing their very own healthy lunches to bring in, present and eat in school.
We were all hugely impressed by the delicious meals that were on display on the day. These included some tasty pasta dishes with sweetcorn and tuna, some crunchy salads with vegetables and protein, some nutritious fruit salads and even some homemade vegetable soup!
Making your own healthy and nutritious food is a hugely important life skill to have and we are sure this will serve our 6th class well as they head into secondary school and beyond!
